After 17 days of festival, Playa de Las Americas said goodbye to one of the most important events in Europe in the final stretch of the year. The Spring Surfest Las Américas Pro brings to a close its most extensive edition, in which more than 300 surfers from all over Europe took part and thousands of attendees were able to enjoy the best surfing and the best possible range of leisure, activities and environmental activities.

In the water, Daniela Boldini from the Canary Islands and Bitor Garitaonandia from the Basque Country were the main protagonists at the start of the event, proclaiming themselves the winners of the Las Américas Surf Pro Eurocup. The championship, which distributed €25,000 in prize money, also proclaimed the champions of the national surfing circuits; Luis Díaz, from the Surfing.es League, and Lucía Machado, from the Iberdrola League.

The Junior Las Americas Pro gave the riders the best wave conditions of the entire event. The main promises of national surfing showed their potential from start to finish in the Spanish Left. Alejo Valido was the main protagonist winning both categories; U16 and U18, and also proclaiming himself champion of the U16 Junior League Series. In the women’s category, Sol Borrelli won the U18 category and also sealed her national title in the U16 Junior Series League.

Carla Morera de la Vall was the main protagonist among the youngest riders. At 13 years old, she reached the semi-finals of the Las Américas Surf Pro Eurocup against the best national riders, retained her title as European U14 champion, won the U16 category and finished second in the U18 category. Without a doubt, Morera is one of the names to mark in red for the future of Spanish surfing.

The Eurokids enjoyed its most international edition, with the presence of surfers from Belgium, Switzerland, Scotland, Ireland, England and Italy, among other countries. Precisely the italian country was one of the main protagonists, with Francisco Anglani proclaiming himself European U14 champion coming from the trials. Daniele Mereu also won the U12 boys category, while England’s Betsie Reay won the U12 girls category. In the U10 category, Reef Johnson won the boys championship and Natalie Karbus took the victory on the girls competition.

In addition, the Spring Surfest Las Américas Pro hosted the most crowded edition of the Euromaster, with more than 80 participants from 8 different countries. Canarian legend Adelina Taylor was proclaimed European Master +40 champion in the women’s category, while Christian Jiménez from Lanzarote did the same in the men’s category. Cantabrian Dani García retained his title in the over-50 category and Irina Tariuc and Jesús María Guerra won in the +35 category.

It wasn’t all about surfing. If the Spring Surfest Las Américas Pro is characterised by anything, it is for being a cross-cutting event that combines culture, sport, gastronomy and environmental protection. During the festival, attendees could enjoy a wide range of concerts, with renowned bands such as Los Salvapantallas or DJ sessions by Papagayo Tenerife, Casa Corona Canarias and Venture Trend.

Environmental actions were one of the focal points of the festival on a social level. With the support of the Formation and Youth Department of the Cabildo de Tenerife, two beach clean-ups and a seabed clean-up were carried out at Las Palmeras Beach, where the event is held. In a radius of action of approximately one kilometre, more than 4,000 cigarette butts, a multitude of food and sweets containers, plastic bags, fragments of glass, plastic and polyesterene, beverage caps, straws and cutlery, among other debris, were collected.

The Spring Surfest Las Américas Pro confirms, after this edition, its continued growth and international projection, proving increasingly attractive to participants and attendees from all over Europe. The event, which would not be possible without the support of institutions such as Turismo de Arona, Turismo de Tenerife and Islas Canarias, will once again offer the best possible end to the surfing season in 2025.

After 17 days of festival, Playa de Las Americas said goodbye to one of the most important events in Europe in the final stretch of the year.
