News2025 Edition
For 2025, the festival expands its sustainability efforts with the support of the Cabildo, through Turismo de Tenerife and the Tenerife Despierta Emociones brand, as well as the Moving The Planet project and its documentary Surfing With Me, and Surfrider.
Together, they have designed a full-day program under the initiative #EcoSurfest, featuring a beach cleanup, an underwater cleanup, an environmental workshop, and educational talks.
The day will follow this schedule:
10:30 – Beach Cleanup
- Led by Surfrider, Moving The Planet, and their project Surfing With Me.
- Welcome by Dimple Melwani, CEO of Turismo de Tenerife
- Cleanup guides: Fruela Fuenteseca and Yaiza Román
12:00 – Environmental Workshop
- Surfrider will join us after the cleanup with a creative environmental workshop, offering a painting activity for participants aged 5 to 14.
13:00 – Moving The Planet Talks
Speakers include:

Surfing With Me, addressing surfing as a tool for connection and respect for the ocean, as well as the project’s social, audiovisual and global vision.

Patricia Arranz (Marine Biology, University of La Laguna), providing a scientific perspective on marine ecosystems and conservation in the Canary Islands.
14:30 – Underwater Cleanup
- Diver location: Travel Sub Dive Center (departing from Puerto Colón)
- Freediver location: Playa de Las Américas (Beach Stage)
