The Spanish Surf Championship and the Surfing.es PRO and Iberdrola PRO Leagues are now underway in Las Américas. On a morning marked by challenging conditions —including a move of the competition to the Piscinas wave— the top riders on the national scene showcased their best surfing during the opening rounds of the Spring Surfest Las Américas Pro 2025.
The men, who were able to complete the round of 16, were the first to hit the water. Olympic surfer and national title defender Andy Criere overcame a tough heat (11.83) to secure his spot in the quarterfinals. Joining him will be surfers such as Lenni Jensen (15.06), Mario Rasines (12.84), Néstor García (10.06), Yago Domínguez (12.57), and the current Surfing.es PRO League champion, Gran Canaria’s Luis Díaz (7.90), among others.

The Iberdrola PRO League competitors advanced directly to the quarterfinals. Current champion Lucía Machado posted the highest score of the morning (13.63) in a tightly contested heat where Carla Morera de la Vall (12.34) also secured her place in the semifinals. The semis will also feature Melania Suárez (12.40), Leticia Canales (10.57), and multi-time Las Américas champion Daniela Boldini (8.37).

This Thursday, if conditions allow, the remaining heats will be completed and the new Spanish Surf Champions will be crowned. All matchups are now available and can be viewed at the link below.
This event would not be possible without the support of institutions such as Turismo de Arona, the Island Council (Cabildo) through Turismo de Tenerife and the Tenerife Awaken Emotions brand, Islas Canarias and the Government of the Canary Islands; brands such as Spring Hotels or Corona; and collaborating companies including Surfactory, Local Motion, Quirónsalud, Papagayo Tenerife and Veinte 04.
